How to Care for Itchy/Flaky Scalp

There are different reasons as to why your scalp is itching/flaking consistently. These reasons could be due to product build-up, eczema, dandruff, dry scalp, etc. If your scalp condition is severe, it would be appropriate to consult a dermatologist.

Hot oil treatments:

(carrier oil+ essential oil)


Carrier oil suggestions: coconut oil, olive oil, jojoba oil, castor oil

Essential oil suggestions: tea tree oil, peppermint oil


The medicinal properties in tea tree oil treat fungus and bacteria that could be irritating the scalp. The anti-inflammatory properties of peppermint oil can also be beneficial for the scalp. These oils have a cooling effect that is soothing to the scalp.




How to do a hot oil treatment:




*Disclaimer: The organism that causes dandruff is lipophilic (oil-loving). Certain oils would make your dandruff worse. I recommend using products that are designed to treat dandruff or consulting with a professional for treatment options.
